SAGUACHE COUNTY — The 15th annual San Luis Valley Seed Exchange will occur April 12-13 at Joyful Journey Hot Springs Spa, a serene retreat located north of Moffat. Activities will start at 10 a.m. each day and end at 5 p.m. on April 12 and 2 p.m. on April 13.

The event offers many opportunities for attendees to "engage in the vibrant local food, gardening, and agricultural community. "

Themed "The Secret Life of Stewardship," the seed exchange features eight educational speakers; local vendors including artisans, growers and producers; food crafted from locally sourced ingredients; a seed swap table; door prizes; and a community sharing hour in which attendees can take the stage and share their passions, projects or announcements. The event program also contains a $2 coupon for soaking at Joyful Journey Hot Springs Spa.

Soak and stay. Enjoy your visit to the seed exchange with a soak in the healing mineral waters at Joyful Journey. The pools are tempered between 98F and 108F for a variety of soaking pleasures.

The hot springs mission includes this: "Joyful Journey is a sanctuary, a community, and a retreat, where people from all walks of life come to experience its soothing waters — to heal and find peace from the stress of their daily lives."

On Saturday, Dustin Freyta will speak about “Planting Water,” Eric Delozier will talk about “Soil, Mycelium, and the Subtle World of Nature,” and Peter May will present "Nature Forgotten Steward: Wisdom Fire,” Micah Roseberry on “Biodynamic Stewardship.”

On Sunday, speakers include Lucy McCall, who will present "Planting with Astrology," and Brigitte Mars, who will speak about "Get Off Your Grass and Create an Edible Lawn."
