ALAMOSA — After alerting parents and community that there had been a bomb threat at Alamosa High School and that students had been immediately evacuated to Ortega Middle School, ASD officials issued a statement informing the public that an "all clear" had been issued.

The statement, made by Asst Superintendent Luis Murillo, reads as follows: 

"This morning, Alamosa High School (AHS) received a bomb threat via voicemail. In accordance with district safety protocols and out of an abundance of caution, the
decision was made to immediately evacuate all students and staff to Ortega Middle School (OMS).

"Upon arrival at the evacuation site, the district initiated its formal reunification process. Some students transitioned via district transportation to OMS, and students with access to personal vehicles evacuated to their homes.

"Once on-site, our reunification team executed standard
protocols to ensure every student would be safely accounted for and successfully reunited with their parent or guardian.

"The Alamosa Police Department conducted a thorough sweep of the high school campus. Law enforcement found no evidence of any explosive devices or credible hazards.

"The building was officially cleared at 8:25 a.m.

"The Alamosa School District extends its sincere gratitude to the Alamosa Police Department, the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Department, and the Colorado State Patrol for their rapid and professional response.

"We also want to thank our students, staff, and families for their patience, cooperation, and calm during this morning’s events. 

"Alamosa High School students will return to class tomorrow, January 15th, 2026. Counseling
support will be available as needed."
