ALAMOSA — The Alamosa Live Music Association (ALMA) Battle of the Bands on Saturday, June 7, at SummerFest on the Rio, was a resounding success. Five amazing bands competed in front of a full audience, and a panel of expert judges.
The winner was A Butter Way, a punk rock/party band comprised of Mike on the drums, Garrett on guitar/vocals and Nichole on bass/lead vocals.
They covered artists like Selena, Prince, Dean Martin and even had a few originals up their sleeves.
The prize is a $1,000 contract to perform at the final Sundays at Six of the summer, on Aug. 24 in Cole Park.
