Suiting up for the 2021 Colorado High School Coaches Association All-State Games' Girls' Basketball Red team, 3A Centauri's Brenna McDaniel (30) breaks a two-Blue trap during the battle for third place this past Friday, July 2, inside CSU-Pueblo's Massari Arena. Despite McDaniel's 13 second-quarter points (and a team-high 15 total), Red fell just short, 63-61, in their quest to atone for the previous evening's 51-42 loss (in which McDaniel tied two teammates with a Red-leading seven points) in the semifinals to White. With 2A Center's Jan Vigil coaching in tandem with 4A Broomfield Holy Family's Ron Rossi, White would then down Black 64-51 on Day 2 to earn the tourney title.
