MONTE VISTA – The San Luis Valley Federal Bank presented a $19,500 check to the City of Monte Vista in support of various initiatives that began in 2024.
The donation includes $10,000 for the new multi-use building that was built on the Monte Vista Golf Course and $2,000 ear marked for the Monte Vista Police Department, $2,500 for downtown lighting and $5,000 for Kids Connection programs.
City of Monte Vista Town Manager Gigi Dennis was present to accept the check on behalf of the city stating, “We are so grateful for this generous donation and to those who helped make these programs possible.”
Minday Chavez, Monte Vista Branch Manager for San Luis Valley Federal Bank, stated, “The Monte Vista branch team is honored to present this funding on behalf of the board and all SLV Federal Bank staff to the City of Monte Vista. We recognize the vital role various city departments play in making this a better place to live and do business. These funds represent just a portion of our bank’s total community support, with additional contributions designated for other communities at year-end.”
San Luis Valley Federal Bank staff and City of Monet Vista representatives gathered at the bank on Thursday, Feb. 27, to celebrate the donation.
“On behalf of the city, I would like to thank San Luis Valley Federal Bank for its generous contributions. We deeply appreciate their ongoing support and the positive impact they make as a true community bank serving the greater San Luis Valley region. These funds go a long way to contributing to the city and helping us with programs and infrastructure that benefit our community,” stated Dennis.
