The San Luis Valley Fair kicked off Thursday morning, Aug. 1, with the two-day Horse Show at the Ski-Hi Complex in Monte Vista. The first day of the show is Western-English, followed at 9 a.m. on Friday with Ranch Horse and Gymkhana. Tucker Canty of the Blue Crew in Conejos County competes in the Senior Reining event.
