Rey Simon Sisneros, 62, passed away too soon on Jan. 28, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colo., after complications from an illness. He was born on Feb. 18, 1959, in Espanola, N.M., to Simon Sisneros and Corine Sisneros.
Preceding Rey in death is wife Susan Sisneros, brothers, “Eppie” Jose Sisneros and Joe Lee Sisneros.
Those left to cherish the memories of Rey are both his parents, Simon and Corine Sisneros of Monte Vista, Colo., children, Shari and Rutilio Lobatos of Pueblo, Colo., David and Christina Sisneros of Clayton, N.M., Catrina Sisneros and Walter Williams of Dalhart, Texas, Robert and Melissa Sisneros of Tennessee, grandchildren, Anastasia Sierra of Denver, Colo., Jacob Reyez, Lorena Lobatos, Lily Lobatos and Arianna Sisneros of Pueblo, Colo., Elijah Sisneros and Natalie Sisneros of Clayton, N.M., Brianna DeHerrera and Darius Williams of Dalhart, Texas, Maya Sisneros of Tennessee and siblings, Dean and Louise Sisneros of Monte Vista, Colo., Eleasar and Rosalina Sisneros of Midland, Texas, Derrick Sisneros of Colorado Springs, Colo., Glen and George Sisneros of Midland, Texas, and Jeffery and Marla Sisneros of Alamosa, Colo. Rey also had Uncle Richard and Aunt Rose Madrid of Monte Vista, Colo., Aunt Susie Lopez of El Rito, N.M. and cousins on both sides.
Rey bravely and proudly served his country and joined the United States Army in 1978 until being honorably discharged in 1983, then went on to join the National Guard from 1984 to 1991.
A memorial service was held on Feb. 4, 2022, at Strohmayer’s Funeral Home in Monte Vista.
