Moffat archer captures state title

MOFFAT — The Moffat Schools Archery recently competed in the Colorado State National Archery in the Schools Program 2025 Virtual Tournament. Chase Shellabarger, a Moffat sophomore, turned in the highest score across all divisions in the tournament, to be named the 2025 High School Colorado State Champion Boy.

Moffat archer captures state title

MOFFAT — The Moffat Schools Archery recently competed in the Colorado State National Archery in the Schools Program 2025 Virtual Tournament. 

A total of 529 archers from around the state submitted scores. Chase Shellabarger, a Moffat sophomore, turned in the highest score across all divisions in the tournament, to be named the 2025 High School Colorado State Champion Boy. Chase scored 289 out of a possible 300 points. This is Chase’s fifth time representing Moffat at the podium and the third time capturing a state title. 

The following Moffat archers placed in the top 10 in their divisions: Chase Shellabarger (First Place - High School Boys Division), Oriana Steele (Third Place - High School Girls Division) Caiden Cross (Third Place - High School Boys Division)  Sean Gibson (Seventh Place - Middle School Boys Division) Kandra Pollard (Eighth Place - High School Girls Division) Lillian Worm (Ninth Place - Middle School Girls Division) Moffat coaches, Jack Sciacca and Megan Shellabarger plan to take Moffat’s top contenders to the 2025 NASP Western National Tournament in Sandy, Utah, in late April.
