Everett Santistevan, 62, died recently in Del Norte. Everett was born Feb. 17, 1961.
A constant presence on the streets of Del Norte, Everett was beloved by the entire community.
He was easily recognized by his tall stature, but it was the glittery nails, expressive makeup, handmade jewelry, and purple bicycle that made him who he was.
Everett served as a window washer, groundskeeper, landscaper, and much more to many main street businesses. He had a great work ethic and always did such a wonderful job keeping our town clean.
Hardly a day passed without seeing him working somewhere, for someone. He was a staple of our town. Some towns have statues or landmarks, we had Everett.
He stood watch over our town and always kept our sidewalks and gutters clear of trash. He loved helping his community and the streets of this town will forever miss him.
Everett was a gentle, humble, kind, loving, creative, and generous man. If you got to know him as a person, you also knew that he had a great sense of humor.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Riverwalk down on the Rio Grande River in Del Norte on Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. Please come and help us remember our friend Everett. All are welcome.
