ALAMOSA — The Alamosa Bicycle Coalition (ABC) began five years ago as a small grass-roots initiative. The coalition will hold an open house in Alamosa on June 12. ALAMOSA — The Alamosa Bicycle Coalition (ABC) began five years ago as a small grass-roots initiative. The coalition will hold an open house in Alamosa on June 12. By refurbishing used bicycles and donating them to persons referred by local community partners, ABC works to meet the needs of those in our local community who lack access to other reliable basic transportation for work, school, appointments, shopping and other essential community engagements.
ABC also provides bike repair skills classes, offers its workshop for use by community members needing to repair their own bike, and introduces local youth to cycling skills and bike safety. Community partners and the general public are invited to join ABC for an Anniversary Open House to celebrate its fifth birthday and welcome Liz Breckbill as ABC’s new executive director. The Open House will be on Thursday, June 12 from 4-6 p.m. at ABC’s bike workshop, located in the rear of Hobby Town on Main Street in Alamosa.
