Rotarians filling need for food

...

CONEJOS COUNTY - Due to COVID-19, folks are using their local food banks more frequently to help put food on the table.  Rotary Club members recognize that there is a higher food demand due to unemployment thats why Rotarians are seen in different communities of Conejos County gathering nonperishable items for the local food banks. “Holding Food Drives is one way of helping local food banks and it is gratifying to see the generosity of the folks in each community who want to help by donating food. The kindness shown is fantastic!” said Julie Gomez-Nuanes, Rotarian.  When tough times strike, many find themselves in need of help and thankfully they can get food assistance from their local food banks.  “Help make a difference and join us in supporting your local food banks.”  “Coffee, tea, canned fruit, cake mix, sauces, mac and cheese, canned meat, pancake mix, syrup, paper goods and wipes are some things that food banks run low on.”  said Adele Barr, Rotarian.  Thanks to all the Food Banks that help fill critical voids during difficult times.  Contact your local food bank for more information.
