SAN LUIS — The Town of San Luis is partnering on several events and community development efforts this summer including the Fiesta de Santiago y Santa Ana, Taste of San Luis, business Experience Accelerator, and Saving Places conference.

Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI) is partnering with San Luis to help coordinate these efforts to advance economic and community development goals. DCI has been working with San Luis since early 2021 through the Colorado Challenge Accelerator Program.

The Challenge Program is a technical assistance program focused on establishing a plan of work and proposal that engages public, private, and non-profit partners to address a significant community challenge. Colorado Challenge Communities receive ongoing support from DCI to establish sustainable economic and community development.

The Town of San Luis invites you to the 171-year-old tradition of celebrating the feast days of San Luis’ patron saints, Santiago and Santa Ana. The Fiesta de Santiago y Santa Ana is a gathering of local generations to enjoy church events, authentic food, traditional music and most importantly, fun and community fellowship, while honoring the cultural uniqueness and heritage of San Luis, the oldest town in Colorado, and its surrounding villages.

The 2022 Fiesta is set for July 22-24 and kicks off on Friday, July 22, with bands, the Feast of Santiago, food, a car show, a 10k run/walk, and more. In 2022, the Town of San Luis is excited to unveil a Pop Up Town Plaza Event, the updated facades in its historic downtown, and the Experience San Luis Farm to Spaceship Accelerator work with several local business and property owners.

The Pop Up Town Plaza and Farm to Spaceship Accelerator will use parklets and installations to activate spaces in the community and invite locals and visitors to experience our San Luis food, products, and places. The installations will remain in place until Aug. 7, as the Colorado Preservation, Inc. brings its first Saving Places — On the Road event to San Luis to celebrate the San Luis Valley.

Volunteers and vendors are wanted for the Santa Ana y Santiago Fiesta and Pop Up Plaza. Limited space is available.

Anyone interested in being a vendor during this family event, would like to help plan the event, would like to enter a float for the parade contest, have a car to enter into the Classic Car Show or enter to walk or run in the Stations of the Cross 10K, contact the San Luis Town Hall at 719-672-3321 or visit www.townofsanluisco.org, for more information.

Business permits are required to sell food or merchandise at this Town of San Luis' historic celebration. Vendors will need to download and fill out the application and return it to the San Luis Town Hall to reserve a spot at the 2022 Festival. Tent booths, table displays, and vending trucks are welcome.

Premium booth spots are available for $30 per day. The fee for a Special Event Permit/Vendor Permit is $30 for the two days. For questions call, 719-672-3321.
