CONEJOS - Kelli Ann Hackett, 24, of Manassa will have a preliminary hearing in Conejos County/District Court at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 2. She is charged with four felonies and a misdemeanor.
The first charge is theft under $500, a class two misdemeanor. It is maintained by the 12th District Attorney David Mahonee and Deputy District Attorney Mark Franklin, "On or about Jan. 1 through Jan. 5, 2010, Kelli Ann Hackett, unlawfully and knowingly obtained or exercised control over a thing of value, namely: TANF(Temporary Aid to Needy Families), Food Stamps and Low Income Energy Assistance Program benefits, of the Conejos County Department of Social Services, with the value of less than $500, without authorization and intended to deprive Conejos County Department of Social Services permanently of its use or benefit; in violation of C.R.S. 18-4-401(1)(a,(2)(b),"
The court document ends the paragraph with a comma because details of the felony charges follow.
The felonies are two counts of offering a false instrument for recording to the Conejos Department of Social Services. The last two counts allege forgery of separate receipts "calculated to become or to represent if completed, a public record or instrument."
One was a rent receipt, the other a wood receipt.
All of the felony charges are class five.
