COSTILLA COUNTY--A 58-year-old San Luis woman became the San Luis Valley's latest traffic fatality March 15.
At 6:20 p.m. last Wednesday, troopers from the Colorado State Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash on Juarez Road near Remson Road in the Sangre De Cristo Ranches between Fort Garland and San Luis.

Summitville watershed still a problem

SUMMITVILLE -- Nearly 30 years after a mining company let cyanide waste pollute nearby waters, the Environmental Protection Administration the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is still working on the problem.
This 1,400 acre site is in the San Juan Mountains at an elevation of 11,500 feet, surrounded by the Rio Grande National Forest.
