First formal charges filed in death of La Jara woman

LA JARA -- Tyron Martinez, the first suspect arrested in connection with the murder of Norma Salazar, 48, of La Jara, went before Judge Beth Garcia Aug. 24 in Conejos County Court.

Pacheco pleads not guilty in death of father

ANTONITO --Joseph Pacheco, 35, Antonito, pled not guilty Aug. 20 before Conejos County Judge Mary Elizabeth Garcia to charges relating to the death of his father on Feb. 25 of this year.
He is accused of the stangulation of Delfino Pacheco, 73, Antonito, during a drunken altercation between the two.
